So Audio

Interesting times are ahead - not only have we taken a headlong dive into BluRay authoring (in both the "Pure Audio" and full HDMV variants) but we have now formed a very exciting alliance with Super Audio Mastering that will be dedicated to the active promotion of high resolution audio, particularly in 5.1 surround sound. Also in the alliance will be MSM Studios, who developed the new Pure Audio Blu-Ray format which has also recently been awarded an AES standard - AES-21id. Quadrophenia

The Who - Quadrophenia - The Directors Cut is available for pre-order now, release date 14 November. Opus Productions authored the 5.1 DVD-A for this set.
The box set gives a unique insight into the creation of this landmark album and will feature a re-master of the original double album, Pete Townshend’s previously unheard demos including songs that didn’t make it onto the original album, an exclusive eight track 5.1 sound DVD, a deluxe hard-back book, previously unseen personal notes, photographs, memorabilia and other exclusive material that will be announced over the coming months.

Felonious Bosch

Felonious Bosch is a six-piece band from the Twin Cities. Two women and four men who make a unique and original sound beyond the sum of their experience, led by the mesmerizing voice and enigmatic lyrics of lead singer Katy Thomasberg and “nemonic” melodies by Scott Nieman. The 12 songs in Toybox range from pastoral to harrowing. The package was illustrated by the frighteningly wonderful D C Ice.

Discipline

Discipline is now available at Burning Shed Part of the ongoing and critically acclaimed 40th anniversary re-issue series, featuring brand-new 5.1 and stereo mixes by Steven Wilson & Robert Fripp as well as the much-loved original stereo mixes and a stack of extras including rarely seen BBC TV footage from the Old Grey Whistle Test and various alternate mixes that will delight both die-hard fans and new converts to the band.

Starless and Bible Black

Starless and Bible Black is now available at Burning Shed, another release in the ongoing and critically acclaimed 40th anniversary re-issue series, featuring brand-new 5.1 and stereo mixes of these classic albums by Steven Wilson & Robert Fripp as well as the much-loved original stereo mixes and a stack of extras including Live Video footage from New York 1973 and a restored audio bootleg recording of the extremely rare, performed once only, “Guts on my Side”.

Jakszyk, Fripp, Collins - A King Crimson ProjeKct - A Scarcity of Miracles

Jally Kebba

The long awaited debut album from the Gambian Kora player Jally Kebba (see his MySpace for more information, including sampler tracks and detailed bio on this enigmatic and extremely talented player). With the new album being mixed in both stereo and 5.1, this is a superb release.

What's new? - Bombay Dub Orchestra

Bombay Dub Orchestra - 3 Cities. This superb fusion of East meets West was recorded in India and the UK. It was released in CD format by Six Degrees Records in 2009. B.J Cole and Neil Wilkes are remixing this album in 5.1 surround at Opus - the lushness and diversity of these recordings lending themselves totally to the surround environment.

Ballad of Rustom

Ballad of Rustom is a full length feature film directed by Indian director Ajita Suchitra Veera. Produced by Imaginem Cinema in Hydrabad. India. The film follows the life of Rustom and the people he encounters as he works for a local village Telephone exchange. The film highlights the diminishing farm lands in the villages in India, the exodus of villagers to the City and the simplicity and beauty of friendship.

The music is scored by English composer Andrew T. Mackay and features solo cello, accordion and a viola ensemble as well as piano, oboe, clarinet. The score was recorded and mixed in London. The 5.1 Music mix was mixed by Neil Wilkes of Opus Productions.

December - The remastering and reauthoring of the 1990 live outing by the Pat Travers Band - Boom Boom live at The Diamond for Ear music and immediate release, Featuring a brand new transfer from the original videotapes and full resolution LPCM stereo audio this new edition gives this classic performance a full facelift. Windingbrook Lane

Launched in November, a website featuring a newly published book of children's stories, first in a new series called Windingbrook Lane by author Krissy Hawkes. The book can be bought from her site for £6.00 + package and postage.

 

Hope EP by Laura B

New website for The Fantastic Laura B, French singer and DJ. Explore this site and check out her latest release, the Hope EP. The release date was 12 November 2010.

 

Space 1999 BluRay Case image

Neil Wilkes re-mastered the soundtrack to the cult Gerry Anderson live action sci-fi series Space 1999 - The complete first series, for the Blu-Ray debut. This edition features the original 'as broadcast' mono track as well as the newly re-mastered 5.1 tracks.For more details see the press release

Anathema "We're Here Because We're Here" has been mastered in 5.1 and authored to DVD-Audio. "We're Here Because We're Here" has been mixed by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) , who has described it as "definitely among the best albums I've ever had the pleasure to work on."
